This series originated from Legend Bowl, a pixel art football video game that debuted in 2021. Using the available database of players and teams, I used expressions in After Effects to create the textures for the 3D models. Using Mixamo’s database of mocap data, bringing the character rigs into cinema4d I was able to shape the players into workable forms. cinema’s character animation tools were usefel when adjsuting, combining and tweaking the existing mocap data. Also worked with redshift shaders, creating a working Xpresso rig that allowed me to change one value to swap uniform/scene color to a different team. Automation in After Effects & cinema allows you to spend more time on being creative as opposed to creating 1,696 different textures in this project.
